Are banks helping in time of crisis?

Got a shocking SMS few days back. Amex sms me to say my credit limit had hit and I need to pay asap... I thought my credit card is hacked coz I recall only using like 60% of the limit. Give them a call back and was amazed they told me that's due to they had "just decided" to drop my limit, close to how much I had spent => which results in my limit hitting. The rep said I will get an official notice on it soon. Very disappointed with how Amex handle this, how could they simply reduce without any prior notice and then send warning to demand payments! Signz, it seems people are at mercy of bank whenever they like. Lucky I did not pay off my bills last month in the hope of doing a balance transfer. It is irony that they cancel this service "in liue of bad times". Shouldn't people be needing balance transfer service during bad times so that they can afford to carry on paying bills instead of going bankrupty?

Well, of coz Amex is "not alone". I am starting to get rejection from Standard Chartered on request to waive annual fee. The reps was very "helpful" to tell me I can just pay off my bills and cancel the account. Was unable to pay off my credit lines one-off so had to endure paying it. Manage to squeeze money to cancel off my credit cards. Don't understand the bank policy on insisting annual fee during this bad times. Maybe they know for sure most people are not able to pay-off the amount, so now can "hijack" the high annual fee...

Well, on the good side. Now must work even harder to clear my bills and try to stand clear of this two banks ;-)

The Pepsi Ads at GV

mmm, I always wonder this. Each time at GV watching movie, the front part advertisement likely to have that Pepsi Ads.

But then, GV dont' sell Pepsi. Mmm, so after watching even if I want to drink it, i CAN'T !?!? Mentioned to my wife on this and her reply to "I thought Pepsi can be purchase everywhere?" Ask her to name it, she only seems to recall KFC! lol... Maybe Pepsi should inform people more when it can be purchase ;-p

Very curious to know what's the purpose of such ads.

This reminds me of the AXS machine. Nowadays it usuallys next to the CITIBANK machine. The AXS on top has that big big CITIBANK logo. Then, one corner put there AXS does not accept CITIBANK ATM card. Mmm... Funny arrangement. (Anyway, this is what I saw at the Toa Payoh there, not sure if the rest are the same)

Lousy Experience at Long John Sliver (Vivo City)

Just back from movie at Vivo City. Had a lousy experience at the Long John Silver there.

3 staff at the counter, but only 1 is taking order. Unlucky for me, the two ladies in front of me cannot make up their mind what they want. The counter gal seems new and trying to explain to them what is what. After taken the order, it seems something was changed.

Suddenly, the guy at the kitchen shouted out from inside at the gal to ask her to say properly the order... While it's directed at the counter staff, don't think that's the way to behave at work. Without proper settling the two ladies' order, the counter gal was called into the kitchen and another staff took over... The two ladies was unhappy over the shouting and asking what happened... Their order never finished and i had to wait longer...

One staff whom was washing things seems to see me not happy so tries to ask me for order from another counter but it seems the person behind me was faster ;-p I thought maybe just wait a little while more for them to finish...

Wife cannot tahan the long wait (10mins plus after she sit one corner and wait for me to Q) and decide to leave...

Guess the management never train their staff how to react to customer changing order?

mmm....

waste of my time...

interestingly, after we makan at BK, on the way back the two ladies still speaking with another staff, likely cannot get over the incident... lol

Fax that is forever busy...

Was trying to fax over a form to POSB for last 2 days, but it was forever busy (despite my machine kept auto-retry)... Wonder why the bank give the option to fax when it is almost impossible to fax over...

That reminds me of earlier after getting my income tax statement, I called up the various banks to attempt to increase my credit limits. The instruction given was to write a letter and FAX in to request. Recalling that was the method I used last time, I tried again this year. To my surprise, after trying over the weekends, only manage to get thru to ABN...

Signz, apparently the customer service of the bank simply get worst instead of getting better...

Beware of that Fund Transfer offer!

Got a shock when I received my credit card bill. There was a $3500 fund transfer request been approved on 27th Feb. Another letter from the same bank C (dated 28th Feb, but was received only on 20 March???) said it has approved my fund transfer.

Thinking back, late in Feb a telemarketer from that bank C did offer my fund transfer. As I was driving, I told her to fax over to let me know. To my surprise, she said there is no need for signiture. The offer sound quite nice so I accepted it, but I told her I am not so sure of my bank account number, so it's best that she call me later. However, she assured me it's alright as the bank will double check before the fund transfer is approved and will contact me for any problem.

It's amazing that how could be the bank do a transfer without the need for any signiture, and further more no check was done to ensure the account number transferred to match my name!

Called the bank C. Now has to wait for them to get back to me on monday...

sign, what a disappointment. Earlier last year was still happy with them over ruling in my favour over a mis-billed by another company...
