Updates on encounter with Macdonald

Mmm, happened to go Mac again these few days.

Somehow, my ezlink card again not working liao. The machine not able to detect my card again :-<

At the West Coast Park outlet, the staff proceed to print out the receipt and advice me to claim the points via sms (well, as if I will know the steps). Nevertheless, at least he knew how to handle, so I thought maybe some improvement?

However, today at Bukit Panjang Plaza proved me wrong again. Again the card cannot be read, the staff simply say cannot and return me. Never give me receipts leh. I guess I must not be alone as the lady at next counter comment about the same problem of mine to the manager. Well, the manager told the lady "I will find you to talk on this later" so i didn't know what happened later.

I wonder why would an organisation will want to start to implement a membership system only to "let it rot" at a later stage. This whole membership thing is like an white elephant. Perhaps having so many outlets and sales liao, it's no longer important for "loyalty cards"?

why competition prices go up and not down in Singapore?

Just a quick one...

Something I don't understand in Singapore (or it happened in everywhere).

I saw the article saying Nets increasing their fee because of competition from banks debit card. So, they has to increase their charges to merchant. Mmm, shouldn't provider be dropping charges to fight competition usually?

Just like the coffee shop, oil companies. The price goes up when their competitors increase price. Isn't that if they stay the same price, they will get more sales (been cheaper alternative) and thus increase profit?

Mmm, maybe I bo study de, hence catch no ball the logic...

Customer Service

Wow. Finally has time to write again.

For last few months had some encountered with customer service from various provider. Here's my feedback

Macdonald :
My ezlink card seems to be faulty. Hence I was not able to tap to get my points. However, none of the staff at the various outlet seems to know what to do or how to handle. The "best" was to smile, some don't know how to react and like stun. Well, tried to fill up their feedback form on their webby indicating my contact details and my card number. Zero respond ;-< Very bad, so just eat less with them ;-)

Anyway, I think the problem lies with after I had own van, bo use the card wif any MRT or Bus liao. Even recently tries to use the same card taking bus/mrt has problem, but it "auto-solve" after few trips.

Lucky they now still have the $2 breakfast. If not really cannot find a reason to visit ;-ppp
(since even their wireless is not available liao)

AXS machine :
I pay my credit card bills via the machine nowadays as it accepting most of the banks now ;-) Usually they has this 1 lucky draw chance per $100 paid. There is once when the screen hang and I lost my chance to claim the lucky draw... Fill up their online form and got a respond next morning via phone. The person was polite. Well, he asked for certain details like the CC number used (so many how to remember). So end up I suppose to call them back again to provide the inforation. Overall, I think can consider their service is Good as it's me that cannot provide details and lazy to call back (come on, it's lucky draw chances only, not sure win).

Wireless @ SG :
Mmm, even since it's launch not so good impression for it ;p Tried to apply when they first started, then to know only has to wait 1-2 days for activation. So lost the password. Later when i noticed they finally has a link for feedback, chop chop fill in liao. Has a friendly lady customer service that called me to ask if so far anyone contacted me (shows their CRM not accurate?). She gave me my password over the phone (wow!) and suggested to mail me a hardcopy (double wow!). However, thinking she will mailed me a copy, I never write it down. The letter never came. Double disappointment! hahaha... Later came to know wife has her id/pwd, so can use her ;-)

Plus, M1 has this plan that just pay $22 a month. I think people like me that get frustrated, will end up going to M1 mah ;-)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wanted to try selling things online and do some drop shipping.

Fedex
Dig the website to find out how to get a merchant account. Fill up their form to request more details. Only on my 3rd tries over like 2 months filling up then get a phone reply. Was busy so requested her to call later. She tried but was not able to reach me and ended up dropping me a email to call them for details. Mmm, if I can call, I would had from day 1 right. Funny why go online but still die die must call leh. Heng it's not the only provider in the world... Within the few days I fill up the form and by time she called me, DHL replied me liao. Wanted to work with them as earlier one of my client said their service not bad. Maybe I forget to burn joss stick each time I tries...

DHL

Frustrated over no reply from Fedex online form, tried DHL. 2nd day got reply and received almost all details I need. So chop chop sign up and become their customer liao. But then, not much business to support also. hahaha...

Disclaimer : Above are my personal experience and opionion. It does not reflect 100% of what you may encountered.

bank services...

had a called from XXX bank just now asking me if I want to apply business card (she spoke to me last month before). HA! I told her I had mailed over last month but no updates from them. She lost of words. I tell her further that I had sent the form applying for business card and same time for overdraft facility from the bank. If my latter was rejected, the bank certainly had received my forms. Service super sucks. In fact, the application was attn to this Axxxx Txx whom didn't replied my emails if he had received it. What kind of service attitude!

Wondering now if to termiate my corporate account from this bank. Quite unhappy over their service actually. I tried to apply a 10k overdraft facility, they called to say can offer me 20k. YET, the final letter came in to say it was rejected totally!!! Giving me false hope and wasting my time applying!

Tried to get a statement reprint also very difficult. After q-ing at the bank counter in a busy afternoon, was told by the counter staff "there is nothing she can help me in" as I had to WRITE IN. CANNOT FAX. CANNOT MAIL OVER. Has to hand 0ver at the bank counter which I open the corporate account from. And the best part is "after submission, had to WAIT don't know how long for approval but certainly not immediately". Wow, hard to believe it! Don't see any logic why IN-PERSON I cannot request/access old statments, need to WRITE-IN (not sure what stupid format they will need) and to WAIT for approval. Really shock at how "effective" this bank work.... Wonder why the staff cannot offer me a piece of paper to "write-in" what I want and then submit for me too... I was "advised" to go to where I open the account personally to WRITE-IN. signz, lousy service.

Spoke to few friends and they all agreed recently this bank SUCKS in service... What kind of banking do can we expect from Singapore anyway?

thinking back. there was once in a single day I get THREE CALLS from them asking if I want to apply for credit cards (when I already had). They must be super eager for business to outsource the marketing to so many parties... never see them so "onz" in servicing clients, signz

Mmm, should I close and save $15 bucks monthly. Only hassle is need to change my GIRO forms... While things are not on monopoly, but we don't have much choices in Singapore...

Tons of lucky draws coupon, but...

Went for IT Show 2007 at Suntec today with wife. She purchased a samsung TV with a 25% during the last hours of the show. We happily went off around 9pm but later realised there is lucky draw coupon that we didn't redeem. So I went back up, and noticed there was a redeemption booth for Samsung purchases for some lucky draw thing.

Hearing from the announcement that the lucky draw for the IT Show 2007 was already on-going, I tried my luck at the booth. The staff was still allowing people to redeems the lucky draw coupons, think it's a separate draw. I Q and hand over my receipts, and goosh! I was given two thick stacks of different coupons (just for our purchase of 1.2k). To my disappointment, there was NO pen available for me to fill up. Asked the staff and he was blank at me not knowing how to assits. Gave up and went back. Well, one of the stacks i could still fill up later stage coz its deadline not over yet... Must salute those people that buy alot of things from samsung that had to went thru the effort to fill up BOOKLETS of coupons...

I wonder why the organiser can't be abit of considerate to have pens for people to loan (if scared stolen, can always attached them to the counter). Esp why the need to fill up the receipts number (if they don't trust we buy, why not simply issue the coupons when we pay...)

I guess the next time I come for such show to buy anything, I need to bring pen or self-ink DIY pads to standby incase I had alot of things to fill up. Even better, I should bring tons of them to sell or rent on the spot! That's what the singapore government pushing for, innovative ideas. hahaha.

With IT been so advance, wonder why no one implement counters with PCs/printer whereby staff could simply key in the customer details (caputre correct database) and then print the necessary number of coupons out. Save time on customers end and don't need to pre-print coupons... Mmm, maybe IT simply are way way slowly picking up in singapore still. lol
